We did it! We have reached our initial goal of $100,000 and we did it in two months time.
MUSIC MATTERS sincerely thanks all who so generously contributed to the effort of saving music teachers and music programs in the Brainerd School District for the 2008-09 school year. What a testament to the value the Brainerd Lakes puts on a quality music education! Thank you to everyone who helped in this effort. Whether you made a financial contribution, donated time or items to an event, called friends to help or just kept us in your thoughts and prayers, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. What we managed to do is spectacular. With your help we were able to retain Brian Stubbs, BHS choral director, and to hire a new band director.
MUSIC MATTERS welcomes Chris Fogderud, newly hired band director at BHS.
MUSIC MATTERS is now charting a new direction. All subsequent contributions will be used to ensure that the music department of the Brainerd School District remains vibrant in the future. Together we will continue to work with the BHS School Board and Administration to keep music an important part of the curriculum.
